Well, I needed to start heading back to California and the weekends were booked with activities... so I asked if people could rock climb in the dark...? Being up for anything with a whiff of adventure, Mike was eager to make me think twice about getting what I asked for. The climb up was easy enough and I have yet to break a nail. There were plenty of crack hand holds throughout. It was just the lip on top, where I had to grab a branch that gave me the slightest trouble. My first rock climbing experience was at Joshua Tree, CA and now this was my fourth time up at Squamish. Nothing like taking a newbie on her first multi-pitch trip in the dark! Almost a full moon hung in the sky and I did the majority of the climb without the headlamp. The trip down was a whole other monster... I suggest keeping the climbing shoes on for at least the first 20 minutes. Maybe it was just the darkness but I would have felt better with more traction then my Sketcher Shape Ups could provide. For all the "whining" it really was a great time and I suggest it to everyone wanting to live slightly more dangerously. You really can't beat the view. Mike made the silly comment on his facebook and gave me the idea to use "Insomnia" by Faithless. Thanks again for your patience Mike.
